What to Expect
What should I wear? Answer:
Whatever you feel comfortable with! Some people wear suits and coats, while others wear blue jeans or kapris. We're not so much worried about how you dress, but that you came to visit! What should I expect during the worship service? Answer:
The worship services at Focal Pointe include music, welcome, sermon, and invitation. We do not "take up" an offering, we have a place at each door that those who feel led to give back to God or who want to support the ministry of Focal Pointe can do so, but there is no pressure to do so an offering is an act of worship and between you and God. The music is a blend of your favorite hymns and contemporary choruses. You can sing along as the words are projected on the screen, or feel free to sit back and listen. Also, there will be a sermon. The sermons are Bible-based and applied to real life. Hopefully you will walk away knowing more about the Bible, but also feel that you can use what you heard Monday through Saturday. Finally, there is an invitation. This is the time of the service where people are encouraged to respond to what we've learned and heard this week. You can join the church at this time if the Lord leads, pray with the pastor, a staff member, a member of the Focal Pointe Family, or let the pastor know of a decision you have made. You do not have to do anything at all, but this is why the time is set aside at the end of the service. There is no pressure. We hope that you feel welcome and comfortable in our worship service, but most of all, you see who God is and what He is all about.
